What interests me… Social issues

Okay, so my last post was all about science but there are other things that interest me too.

Social issues are also very intriguing to me. Politics, ethics, and policy also effect everyone’s life. I know many people my age think that politics does not directly effect them but I would argue that they are completely misled. For those of you who live in the United States, you know that it is almost time to pay your taxes (April 17 for those of you who are procrastinators!). Paying those taxes and the programs they support directly impact your life. You may not know where your money goes… if not, I would suggest you educate yourself a little. For example, some of your money goes to support public education… if we did not have public education can you imagine what our society would be like? Without public education the majority of our population would not be able to afford elementary education. This would cause major problems and I am not sure our society would thrive without public education. This is just one of the many reasons our public policy does directly effect all members of society.
